Anybody used them or wished that they had? Our R56 (Spice Orange) is somewhere at sea, should arrive in 4 or 5 weeks, and we're just considering what protection to put on before exposing it to the road. I've looked at a bunch of used Minis and a clear bra is a no brainer but I'm not really seeing any damage that mud flaps or magnetic stone guards would prevent. Am I just missing something?

    TIA and have fun...

I'e used the magnetic stone guards before. They do work but you must be sure that the surface is clean and dirt free before applying otherwise they will leave small scratches.

I use the stone guards, but more for looks than to prevent chips.

I've developed a set for the r56 for both front and rear I will be installing them on the test car a 2009 JCW clubman tomorrow. and I will post a photo. all of the testing has proven to
me that they do a great job of keeping the sides of the car cleaner and the rears will help
reduce accumulation of grime on the boot.

I found a cool set of front and rear at the Hendricks MINI tent at MOTD. They are completely molded and look like part of the trim, rather then an after thought, like the thin ones do. Plan to install them next week and will post pictures.

I put front mud flaps and magnetic stone guards on mine and they really help. Whenever I was the car I remove the stone guards, wash them and wax both sides when I replace them.

I have the molded mud flaps from Out Motoring.
I think that the front flaps really help.
It was my hope that the back flaps would help keep the boot clean, but no, they don't.
I do like the way they look.
Hmmm, just noticed that I don't have any photos that show them.
I will try to take some tomorrow and post in my "Garage."

I don't have the clear bra, didn't know about such things when I bought the car.
I sure would do it the if my car was new.
I probably should do it now, even though damage has been done.

    Congratulations!
Spice Orange is a very cool color, or maybe I should say very hot color.
You are going to love your MINI!

I have the front flaps which do make a significant difference. I also have clearbra stone guards that were installed new and have been a godsend, and (at least on my color car) aren't noticeable and look better than the black ones, IMO.

I really like the Rally Armor mud flaps that you see on Subies. Has anyone tried to fit a set of their universal model to a MINI?

My MINI didn't come with mudflaps. The first time I drove it in the rain, I got mud spray off of the wheels and up the sides. I bought OEM mud flaps from the dealer and installed them myself. They work really well, I think they look great!
