So last Sat I dropped my car off at Riss Racing for some product development. Some of you might have heard of them, but for those of you who havnt they are well know in the BMW 335i market for building some of the highest hp producing parts around. They currently hold the record for the highest HP stock turbo 335i :eek2: www.rissracing.com Well anyway I was talking to them about a catless downpipe that came with a cell fix since there really isnt a catless downpipe for the car except for the Exhaust Depot one and a lot of people seemed to have issues with it. They have the ability to build an electronic cell fix so that will take care of any cell issues Any way on to the development photos: Car on the lift: Looking into intake development: Downpipe removal: The last thing I heard from them today was they where gathering materialst today to start mocking up the downpipe and exhaust system. Ill keep everyone updated as I find out more info.
I think it's great they provide so much info to keep you up to date. Seems very unusual to me. Looks like they're thorough and really think things through.....also not so common. I can't wait to see how this comes out. Thanks for posting!
Yea ... they are a good group of guys and its cool of them to show all of what goes into the development.
Another update from Riss Racing .... also if anyone is in the So Cal area and wants a free catless DP and O2 Sim please pm me as they are looking for a 2nd car to test it.
Yup. They're having some well-publicized struggles over at Riss. We did some business with them on the BMW side, and found them pleasant chaps with some pretty aggressive and competent product development. We have their downpipes on our shop 135i, and niggly fitment issues aside, they make great power. Here's hoping they right the ship and make a big, Tiger Woods comeback.
Now thats a loaded question if I ever heard one! Kinda like "other than the iceberg how was your voyage on the Titanic?"
I ordered a EOY year special from them -- and they did not ship for two weeks, But to their credit when I asked for a refund, they complied promptly. I was impressed, with all their problems I feared the worst, so perhaps they really are trying to do the right thing.
No website, nothing heard from them in quite some time. I'm going to go with implode but I could be wrong. Then again it has been 1.75 years since this thread was updated or that we've heard from Riss Racing at all...
Well I blew out an exhaust of thiers at Big Willow back in March. Black coating flaking off muffler; muffler packing (fiberglass?) coming out the exhaust tip; flange seals leaking; metal grid covering cat-con material shrunk from heat tempering and rattled around after that. It was a nice exhaust on the street. Sounded and looked good. One track day and it goes right to crap. I went back to the OEM exhaust and haven't had a problem since. I know they are most likely gone but they shoulda removed the "racing" from thier name... BTW, yay for Zombie threads!
