Just got an R53 this week and I love it! I'm so glad to join a community like this, I can't wait to go to a meet.

My Mini is an 05 Cooper S manual. Dark gray (I believe Mini calls it anthracite) and Black exterior. Black interior, Nav system, Sunroof. I am absolutely in love. I traded in my 99 Ford F150 for this, so the fuel efficiency is amazing.

What are the mods anyone would suggest first? I don't have a ton of money, so anything I would do has to be saved up for.

Forgot to mention I'm in the Kansas City area.

:cornut: Welcome to MA and congratulations on the R53. R53 people love their MINIs almost more than life itself. R53 people say that the 'Best Bang for the Buck' first mod is a smaller super charger pulley which increases boost and therefore power. Your R53 may have already had this mod done by the previous owner so you might check on this. Other R53 people(I'm an R56 person) will be along shortly and tell you how to check by 'eyeballing.'

    Welcome Aboard!
Just start going through the R53 section. You'll find great things to do cheaply.

:cornut: The club in KC is Kansas City Motoring Enthusiasts and the contact from here is: MotoringChix. Send them a PM and that also generates an email to them. There is a club in Kansas proper in Wichita. Check our 'club links' for the particulars.

And the clouds parted and the sun shined and there was a R53.
A SC pulley and cold air intake are the best bang for the buck. I have a 17% pulley but most people get a 15% pulley. After that a cat back exhaust is a good next step.
There is lots of help here and we will never tell you to do a search. There is no charge for the sarcasm either.
There are two types of people in the world R53 owners and those who wish they had one:biggrin5:
I could wax long about the greatness of the R53 but my fellow Mini owners would just get jealous :biggrin5::biggrin5:
    Welcome to MA!

Yes I to have a R53, the only way to fly:Thumbsup:

    DaveO your turn.

Yup an R56 if the fastest MINI ever.

Ever notice every sales guys always shows every new MINI owner the wonderful service department. They want you to know where you will be spending some time in the future. They also don't want you in the showroom bothering them after the sale.

Most 2nd Gen MINIs of them will go from the showroom to the to the service department in less the 2 min for carbon cleaning.:lol::lol::lol::lol:

:cornut: They don't get any cooler than a Soldier Combat Veteran(or Airman, Marine, Sailor, Coastie). To Go In Harms Way with a load of ordinance, against an armed enemy, in defense of the constitution..................well it just doesn't get any better and believe me, I know.

I'll just have to move Mark to the back seat. Hell, then that will put him out of commission for years!:eek6::cornut::ihih:
