Hello everyone! A business card was left on my window a year ago and am just now beginning to post. I have a few questions I am hoping someone here will be able to direct me to the right places for answers. 1. Is there a good mechanic/garage in Columbus, OH other than the Mini dealer? 2. I have this awful grinding sound coming from my wheels that isn't bad brakes/rotors. It is like a whirring sound when I turn slightly and am driving ~60MPH It's a 2003 Mini Cooper. In really good shape, great tires, new brakes/tires, really clean, exceptionally maintained, just has this sound that I am beginning to think is a wheel bearing issue. Any response will be greatly appreciated!! Thanks in advance! -Zack
Welcome to M/A. I know some of the other C-bus owners have gone to North End Wrench and there is another place, but I can't remember the name of it. Hopefully one of them will see this thread and pop in with the name.
Welcome to M/A. My guess is a wheel bearing is going away. I would recommend Best Auto Werks for your non-dealer MINI repair needs. Best Motor Werks | BMW & Mini Cooper Repair in Columbus, Ohio. John Best & his mechanics do good work. Tell John the folks over at Motoring Alliance sent you.
Welcome, thanks for joining Motoring Alliance... If that card was on the window in or around the North Market or Short North...it was most likely me.
Welcome to M/A. 1+ wheel bearing. That would be my guess on the wheel sound. I have a 2005 and replaced all 4 of mine this Summer at 73k.
