My 03 S has been making a squeaking type noise when starting from a stop cold for ~9 months. Over that time it has gotten more and more frequent. At this point it even does it sometime when the car is fully warmed up. I made a short video to capture the sound-

    Any guesses?

Clutch clutch clutch. Possibly a stuck dual mass flywheel.

Mine makes the same noise when it is cold and I let up the clutch to take off in 1st. MAG said it was no big deal and that they do that.

Brought it by the local Mini place and they confirmed it is the clutch. They've said it's not going to grenade itself anytime soon. I don't need to replace it until the noise is beyond what I can stand or it wears to the point of slipping.
