2nd Gen Nearly 50K BMW, Mini Vehicles Recalled in the US for Fire Hazard

MINI , quality is still NOT job #1.

 

Hmm, I had the auxiliary water pump changed on my 2010 in a recall a few years ago. They didn't get the later cars right even after that?

 

So this is how MINI is going to get customers into dealerships look and maybe trade in the R56s for a new F56 hummmmm.

 

Where do you check your VIN? My MINI made the list.... And there's been a couple times I've smelled a hot electronic type stench and just figured it was another car.

 

I thought this was an issue from five or so years ago and it was resolved. I know a guy who had his car burnt to the ground because of this and he had to
go through hell to get MINI/BMW to stand up and take the medicine. He finally got a new car from them....free.

 

I agree with minirab, this is old news. Mine was recalled 4 - 5 years ago, and I'm not MCS02's active recall list --- I'll look again in a couple weeks. Maybe it's being re-published to catch those that still haven't had the pump replaced?

 

Question, when I put my vin in the box it comes up in red "vin not found". Does that mean there is no open recalls for the car or is my car a knock off from
China?

 

Never mind, it helps if I hit the right keys and good news no open recalls...yet.

If it were made in China, it'd actually be reliable. and I'd try just the last 7 digits.
