Brakes Wheels 1st Gen Tires Need: 12 X 1.5 Black lug bolts long enough for 5mm spacers

    Well, I think the title was quite descriptive. Anyone with any ideas on where to find these?

    This M12X 1.5 wheel stud kit is great if you hate the stock bolts on your R50,R52, or R53.

    This stud is a straight M12x1.5 stud that will work with 5 and 8mm spacers.

    Made in the USA of premium steel, black oxide finish, bullet nose for easy threading of lug nuts. The wheel studs are 65mm overall length with 52mm protruding from the hub.

    Kit contains 16 studs, enough for 1 MINI.

    Thanks, but no thanks..........I was looking for lug bolts, not studs.

    I know what you mean if they are going to be seen on the wheels. But anything else, this may be some useful reading?

    If you don't get the black bolts I have a set of silver ones in that size I would sell right.....

    I'm running the Turner studs as well. They sure are proud of 'em at $5/each, but they have held up beautifully for over 4 years with narry a sign of wear (and they are long enough to give Jango a nice Mad-Max look when I'm not running a spacer :D )

    Lug Bolts are NOT made for frequent removal of the wheels. You can damage the hub. Studs are made for folks that change wheels often. Get over it Terry and get the studs. :ihih:

    Well that was a dose of reality.
    Lynn mentioned studs early on and I was not ready to accept, maybe I am still not ready, but I am getting closer.

    Ok fine fine fine, I will at least quickly research/investigate studs and open end nuts. I damn sure fall into the category of frequent wheel changes.

    If your a frequent wheel changer and a spacer user the studs are a much better option. Get them and the whole thing becomes a none issue in the future. 2cents

    I to am in the studs camp. When changing wheels often they just make sense. The first time you do a swap once the studs are installed you'll be kicking yourself for not doing it sooner. It is SO easy to hang the wheel. No dealign with lining everything up just so and getting two bolts started to get the positioning right. From jack placement to wheels on the ground I do the swap in 15 min total and I'm not the most athletic one out there.

    Here's what I got:

    I assume these are the TSW studs

    Of course you will need lug nuts, an allen wrench to install them (forget what size), and the special socket for the lug nuts. And I carry a spare stud and nut and socket.

    Also use blue lock tight (sp?) to install and tighten them up good.

    I wish I could get a larger pic of those TSW studs, can't really see very much with that thumbnail pic, not that there is much to see anyway.

    Alright, what open end nuts are you guys running?

    I hated changing wheels, after I installed the studs it became so much more easier to change wheels. I heavily siliconed the TSW spline socket to a 1/2 adaptor which makes it even easier..its just one piece.

    I like Turner's nuts. They're bigger and hex drive. Studs are your preference. TSW/WMW's are long enough but don't stick out excessively. Turner's have a "bullet nose" that helps to align the wheel without damaging threads, but they definitely stick out some. Oh and Turner's are like 2.5x more $$.

    These are my TSW lug nuts with a spacer. I did not use the black oxide finish studs that come with the kit because I wanted longer stud length. But I think the silver black combination does not look bad?
    With my wheels they are cover and out of sight anyway.
