Hello everyone, I have recently purchased a 2008 FJCW MINI here in Australia. I know some of you think that they didn't produce a FJCW in 2008, but yes they did, and I have one!! It was originally manufactured and delivered to Australia in August 2008. It only had 10,000 k's on the odometer, and is in great nick. I live in some of the best driving area in Australia, and am happy to have this rocket to experience some of these roads on. Have recently retired from motorbike riding on the road, so needed a speed fix to keep me happy. My other transport is a 2005 TD5 Land Rover Defender, which is certainly not fast by any means. This is also why my user name is Mudnut, It's easier to keep things consistent to my 50 year old brain. Cheers, Ken
Welcome, thanks for joining Motoring Alliance, the FUN and Friendly MINI Community. What is the FJCW please, I'm not familiar with that one.
FJCW is a Factory produced John Cooper Works MINI. 155kw power, hardened pistons, different intake and turbo, exhaust, plus aero pieces. All assembled in the factory, instead of a Cooper S with add on pieces. Thanks for the welcome Ken
Hello and welcome to Motoring Alliance The JCW pieces were dealer installed in the R53 generation pre-facelift. But in Canada nad US, pretty well all the JCW cars are factory fitted now. I'm not even sure you can get a dealer installed JCW set up in Canada or US anymore.
That is correct. However, they were not introduced to North America until 2009. In Europe, and Australia, it was produced in 2008. Hence I have a 2008 FJCW. This means I will have to keep an eye out for early production problems!! Cheers, Ken
