I had the idea to change the R53 steering column out for the R56 one. I would really like to have the wheel closer.

Has anyone ever done this or looked into it? Is there a different option?

Why not put a spacer under the steering wheel to move it closer to you.

Actually shorter legs would be easier.........they have electric tools to do that.

Stop thuggin around with your seat laid back...

A spacer would be the easiest option.

The seat moves back and fourth or are you a T-Rex? (Long legs, short arms)

I'm not quite as bad as old T-Rex. It does look like a lot of work. I figured it would be.

Is there such a thing as a spacer for the stock wheel set up? I know I've had them for my MOMO wheels in the past. I'd like to keep the controls and air bag.

    Thanks for all the input.

You will probably need to machine this yourself. Just be sure to keep the center hollow to pass the wiring. Also, before you take the steering wheel off and disconnect the airbag disconnect the battery to prevent the airbag light from coming on. Mark the TDC on the column and steering wheel to make sure it goes back on in the same spot.
