Currently running the factory-installed 16" Continental RunFlats. They only have about 8k more miles on them before they should get replaced, and I don't want to go with another set of RunFlats.

I live in Chicago, so I'm leaning towards dedicated tires for summer and winter.

I'd like to keep the 16" wheels and throw these on them for winter.
And I was thinking of going with these 17" wheels and tires for the summer.

They seem to review well enough, but I was wondering if anyone had any issues putting 17's on a '10 MCS?

    Much appreciated :)

17's will fit your '10 MCS just fine. You will have a bit more of jaring ride with 17's as opposed to 16's. I prefer 16's myself for the smoother ride & less likelihood that a pot hole will claim one. I like those wheels & from what I've read the Conti's are a good tire.

If you go with those WS60 Blizzak's you'll have a snow machine.

The point about the ride quality is a good one, actually. I'm not wild about the quality with the current 16 RunFlats, which is why I wanted to go with a standard set. Do you think the 17's non-RunFlats would ride as firm as the 16's with RunFlats?

I'm not opposed to keeping both set at 16's, I just thought 17's for summer might be a bit more fun :)

I can't tell you because I've always been on 16's. I do know that regular 16's will ride better than regular 17's. If you were local to me I'd let you test drive my tires.

    Thanks :)
I still have some time to think it over, but I just wanted to make sure 17's would be alright.

I picked out the 16's and 17's I'd likely go with for the Summer(rethought the Conti's).

Just for reference sake, MINI offers factory wheels all the way up to 18" in factory wheels for the MCS, so you wont have any issues running that 17" on your car.

As far as ride, it has a lot more to to with the tire you choose and sidewall then anything else. With that said though, you have chosen VERY good items as far as tires are concerned. Just be sure your summer wheel choice is actually offered for the MINI.

Those tires look good beam. I would caution you on buying a closeout tire. If you ruin one you may have a hard time finding a replacement.

Went with a set of Kumho Ecsta 4x All-Seasons.
Just couldn't justify the cost of new wheels for a set of summer tires come spring.

    So far, so good!

Replaced my 16" runflats with 17" R98 webspokes and Nitto Motivos.. stock springs.. I love it! Difference in ride is night and day!

Those look similar to the Elbrus wheels I had in 17's...minus some of the contouring on the spokes.

If I did it all again, I would go as small as possible and as light as possible. Big cheap wheels have their downfalls.... On mine the clear started chipping off over the black painted parts....and that was with a coat of wax about once a month, and gentle car soap-only baths....but damn-it they looked nice.
Meanwhile the Sport Edition 16x7s I had with winter tires were awesome to drive around on...even looked pretty good! The biggest difference will be the tires though. Non-runflats are night and day.

Probably why those Elbrus i07's are now on closeout as well when the other designs have been around for YEARS

I would advise you to stay away from those wheels, even though they would look really nice (for a few months....)
