    Hi,

I just found this site, and look forward to an on-line Mini community that believes in civility, exchange of information and ideas, and good cheer. We don't have to be straight-laced, just nice :aureola:

My Mini has been a car that I have loved and hated, sometimes both feelings at the same time . Since I elected to travel down the mod highway early in 2003, I have spent a small fortune on my car, and have almost pulled out the few remaining hairs on my head! Recently I planned to sell the car, but have changed my mind since work on the car has been shifted away from the previous direction. Now, I am again excited about the car, and can say that I love driving it again.

Allow me to list the current modifications to my Mini:

WMS CAI; Ported/Polished M45 with 17% Pulley; Electric Water Pump*; Gintani A-W Intercooler-Intake Manifold; MegaMini Stage 3a Head*; MegaMini Camshaft; CP 1mm Oversized Pistons; Bosch 550cc Injectors; NGK Platinum IX Plugs; RMW Race Header; MegaMini Cat-Back with Random Technologies High-Flow Cat, Jasma Resonator and Dual Exhaust using Vibrant Mufflers; Custom ECU Tune
    [* Currently being installed]

2005 Getrag Transmission; Quaife LSD; Bilstein PSS9's; Hotchkis Adjustable Front Camber Plates and Upper/Lower Rear Control Arms, Front and Rear (Competition) Sway Bars

Boat Load of Gauges; Centerline Excel and Enkei RPF-1 Wheels; Etc., Etc.

O.K., that's it. Now, onto reading some good posts....

Hey there Bob, new to the site as well.....looking forward to some more civil discussions and alot less or even no bickering over nonsense. I've had the same feelings toward my '05 S....been down the broken road with a terrible dealership, held onto the car and drove it alot with no problems...now as warranty is coming close to the end, things are breaking again and the dealer wants nothing to do with me cuz of my very simple engine mods. Very disappointing but still love the car. I'd love to sell it and take my money and run away but its just tooo much fun to drive.

    Steve

Yes, I've got more mods, many times over, than common sense.:ihih:. But that's the nature of the "illness". When the pending goodies are installed and after the appropriate tuning adjustment, I'll try to post some performance data. BTW, Hubie told me that my car was very strong and was pulling hard all the way out to 7500 on the street :D. I should have been satisfied, but still decided to go from the Stage II to Stage IIIa head, as well as the electric water pump. Perhaps the reduction in parasitic drag by eliminating the supercharger-based water pump might manifest itself in perceived quickness of throttle response. The electric water pump is a routine mod for turbocharged cars, and it will be interesting to hear of others' experience with supercharged cars. I'll let you know what happens...

    Cheers,
