I finally picked up my "new" mini last night! It's an '05 Cooper S with a 6 speed and 34K on the clock. It's a dream as all you who already have a Mini can attest. I haven't had much time to play with it, but so far so good! It shows some wear points on the top and the bumpers have a few nicks and dimples and the drivers seat shows some wear on the outside bolster but for the most part she's a beauty! I'm giving her a shakedown drive tomorrow afternoon, driving from Long Island to the Berkshires, about 200 miles each way. I'm looking forward to the experience of the drive. It's going to be raining but I don't care. I'm not out for record breaking travel. Some Rain-X and hopefully new blades, and I'm good to go.:biggrin5: Pictures wil appear as soon as the weather allows, hopefully over the weekend.:cornut:
Welcome, thanks for joining Motoring Alliance, the FUN and Friendly MINI Community. Congrats on your new to you MINI.
Topless motoring is motoring at it's best! Two things you really want to add right away is a 'light-in-sight' and a wind deflector. A wind deflector was available at: FS:: R52 Convertible OEM Wind Deflector and OEM R52/R53? Car Cover - North American Motoring I don't know the status at this time but you can contact the guy and find out. Way Motor Works carries the light-in-sight. LightInSight - Way Motor Works
Agree about the wind deflector! After we picked up a cabrio for the wife last spring, picked up a OEM wind deflector and it transformed how we use the car. My wife has long hair so she hated the wind blowing it around, she had to use a loop and tie her hair back, never liked doing it. Got the deflector in and, with all the side windows up, deflector up, virtually no wind in the cabin It's so nice that I went to work yesterday, 46 degrees, heated seats on, heater on, warm and toasty
