Hey everyone, just joined up and had my 2002 Mini Cooper S for 4-5 months now. I will get some pictures for my garage here in the next few days.

    Car currently has:
    -Alta Intake
    -Front & Rear stress bar's
    -Rear Seat Delete
    -Lowered
-And some decent wheels and tires

Waiting to be put on the car in the next couple weeks:
    -15% SC pulley
    -Detroit Tuned Bypass Valve
    -Caster Camber Plates
    -Rear lower control Arms
    -Megan Short Throw Shifter
    -Crower NS1 Cam
    -Screamin Deamon Ignition pack
    -Beru (colder) plugs
    -Kingsborne plug wires

And that should be all i'm doing for a little while. I'm currently stationed in Fort Polk, LA with the army. I am attempting to find someone who can dyno/tune my mini once these items are done, so if you know of anyone int he Louisiana or Texas area PLEASE let me know! Thanks a lot guys, and gals!

    Welcome to M/A :)

    R53 nice MINI!

You have lots of plans. I'd advise not buying that coil pack. Very low on the bang for the buck scale.

    Looking forward to pictures.

:cornut: Welcome to MA. Soldiers are especially welcome. I was stationed at Ft Polk in 1972 for Basic Training at South Fort and Infantry AIT at North Fort 'Tiger Land.' At that time we called it Ft Puke, Lousyana where there is no gravity as the whole place sucks. I did how ever enjoy the training. Again,Welcome!

Not much has changed then! Still has the same nick names, and everything still sucks lol.

I am stationed here with 4th Brigade 10th Mountain, serving in 2-4 Infantry Battalion. Have done one tour in Afghanistan, and am training up for another it looks like.

Thank you for your service Jason!

:cornut: No actually, thank you sir for cleaning up the mess that our civilian government made us leave there by withdrawing us after driving out the Russies and prior to setting up a good civilian government(don't worry soldier, the Mujahadeen know what they're doing. Yeah right). In 1987-1989 there were all kinds of agency 'sheep dipped' military personnel 'sticking it' to the Russies as they had done to us in Viet Nam. Funny, it used to be classified and now you can watch it on The History Channel. Now back to your nice sounding MINI.(say- are you still doing so much with so little for so long that you are now expected to do every thing with nothing forever?)

Honestly, my mini has been nothing but trouble since i bought it. About a month after getting it i had to have a new starter installed. Then my glove box latch broke (prior to that it just popped open with the slightest bump in the road), a piece of trim flew off of it the day i bought it on the Dallas freeway, my speedo reads way off (the faster i go the more off it is), passenger window stopped working, a bolt in my front tire, a nail in my rear tire, and some sort of suspension problem on the drivers side back wheel.

It literally has just been one thing after another. With the money i've put into this thing i could have had it halfway paid off by now lol. Just has been relentless!!! But the car is so dang fun to drive i just can't bring myself to get rid of it, and now i'm putting even more mods and money into it. I've always been one to like the things that other people may deem as odd or not cool. I just don't really give a **** what other people think. I'm 6'3" 250lbs, Infantry, and i drive a mini cooper. I get lots of funny looks, but i guarantee i have more fun when i drive than they do!

I won't even get started on government cover ups, and sleight of hand. That's just opening a can of worms that no one really knows the real truth about. And while the army still loves to do things the hard way, and make everything complicated. They actually do equip us a lot better now days! Don't get me wrong, there is many MANY things that could easily be better than they are and simply isn't cause of bureaucrats who think they know whats best for the soldier who is 4000 miles away humping gear and equipment up mountains, and getting in multiple firefights a week so that they can suck down their coffee every morning in their plush leather office desks, getting fat off of the salaries that they have so called "earned".

So yeah there will always be certain aspects of the military that need improvement, but we make do with what we have. And i guarantee we're damn good at what we (the infantry) do on a daily basis!

:cornut: Yeah my Margi(08 R56 MCS/JCWm) is the most fun car that I've ever driven bar none. She's had numerous problems also but I just get them fixed and drive on. The people around here that own R53s are almost cult like in their love of the SC R53. I truly hope that all gets fixed and goes well with your MINI. There's nothing basically wrong with the Army. It's the civilian REMFs in DC that are the problem. As Gen Patton said,"The dam*ed politicians always leave the soldier with another war to fight." They never let the soldier completely finish the fighting correctly. When this Soldier(Marine, Airman,Sailor,Coastie) gets to Heaven, to St Peter he will tell. Another Soldier reporting sir, I've served my time in He*l. Just curious, what civilian genius stationed the 10th Mountain in the swamps of La instead of the mountains.
