Hi, I'm new to the group and new to the MINI world. I've thought about getting a MINI for some time now but not until my back problems started and I had to sell my Jeep Wrangler Sport standard transmission. It was getting too hard to get in and out of. I loved my Jeep and had planned on driving it forever, but my back had other plans. Once I made the decision to sell her I started looking at the MINI's, but I had to convince my husband to consider the thought of buying one. Every time I brought the subject up he'd listen and pretty much agree just to keep me quiet. I finally talked him into going for a test drive but at that time he still wasn't convinced. A few weeks passed and when we got an offer on my Jeep I asked him to go test drive again but really keep an open mind. Well, my MA told him a road with plenty of curves and told him to open it up. That was it. He was hooked and when we left the dealership he told me once the Jeep sold we'd order the new one. Which it all happened within 2 weeks. Sold the jeep and a week later we ordered my new MINI Cooper S Convertible, Chili Red. A week after we ordered it I had back surgery and thought my new car would be built and in by the time doc would okay me to drive again. Well, doc released me early (yesterday) but now my MINI is sitting at the dock waiting to get on a boat. I'm so excited to get her but now I'm without a car in the meantime. :frown2:
Congrats! On both the car and the surgery Not wanting to get into the details, but I also have had spinal surgery and learned a lot from it. If I had to go thru it again, I would have pushed myself harder on rehab recovery. It was a long road. Have fun with the car.
Thanks, I've had two laminectomies and doc said if I have any more problems we'd have to discuss the Fusion. :eek6:
Welcome to M/A.... You and your husband will enjoy your new MINI.... The two of you will start some serious grinning....
Same here. I have had two Micro Lumber Laminectomies in the past few years. I have degenerative disc at L4, L5, and S1. A few months ago, I had injections in my spine in those areas. Fusion is a last resort for me. In the meanwhile, I enjoy my 2009 MCS.
Sounds like we're having the same issues. Doc did S1 this last surgery. How are the injections working for you. I went through all the injections prior to surgery and they didn't help at all. Really nice ride. I'm still waiting for my MINI to come in. It arrived at Brunswick dock yesterday, so I'm hoping it won't be much longer. Can't wait... :ihih:
We picked up Miss Scarlet on Friday and I'm absolutely in love. She's all I expected and more. She had 4 miles on her when we picked her up and now she's got almost 700 miles with most of those riding with her topless. I spent the weekend with my 82 year young mom who just went through several procedures for her heart and I took her for a ride. She let me take this picture of her with the top down but before we could leave the house she had me close her up. She did enjoy the ride and changed her mind about what she thought was a tin can of a car. She loves it.
Congatulations on the new MINI! It only took me one ride 35 years ago in a friends Mini, I looked for one to bring back from Europe both times I was over there but never could find the right car. I finaly got my MINI Cooper S friday. WOOT WOOT!:cornut:
