Hello everyone . I just bought a 2011 copper s with only 3,000 miles on it . I have to say it was love at first sight. I had a 09 caliber srt4 that was really quick but was never as fun to drive like it is with the mini. I've been doing some home work to start small upgrades. I don't want to go extreme wait is street only car. I seen this .... Forge Motorsport Atmospheric Blow Off Valve Spacer for R56 Cooper S And was wondering it will fit my car. It says yrs 07-10 but I seen some people say they have it on there 2011 minis . I just want to get the right part and was hoping someone can head me in the right direction. I can't wait to kno the great people on this forum. I am now part of the mini community and looking foward to the good rides
welcome to m/a. I don't know the answer to your question but be very careful cause there were a lot of changes between the 10's and 11's. Some parts that fit the 10's will not fit the 11 and up.
Hey thanks guys. I've decided to keep it simple for awhile. Probably just change the suspension and those ridiculous tires . U think changing the inter cooler would void the factory warranty ?
Welcome Oil catch can would be my first mod. I don't think you would notice a performance gain with the inter cooler unless you keep the the revs up above 4000 rpm. With all the torque I rarely go above 3500 in normal driving. I would just keep the carbon buildup in check with the catch can and sea foam treatment at 5000 mile oil changes. All that said, the most entertaining car I drive. Have fun.
I would deff do the catch can knowing it can only help. Do they make it for the 011 cooper s ? I looked under the hood and have no clue where one would fit
Does anyone kno what these stickers r for. I was trying to see if my engine is a n18 and saw this in the driver door. Any clue ?
I think those are the stickers they use when they complete some recall work. I got one on my 2008 after they did the aux water pump recall. May possibly be for non-recall campaigns as well.
It was at night so it's a bad pic but one has the 53 missing and the other had the 54 missing. Was very strange to me
I didnt see an answer to yout question in the first post so here goes.. The R55-R56 uses a Recirculation valve and not an atmospheric BOV. By using the BOV spacer mentioned in the first post you will be taking your boost and venting it rather than re-using it in the intake stream. Not only will this make your turbo work harder to make up for the missing air it can also cause CEL's. Forge does sell an Electronic DV which works well. If you are looking to get the Pshhhhh back an aftermarket intake will do the trick nicely. Hope this helps. -Brian
Those are recall/ Bulletin decals so that the next dealer will know that those recalls have been done.
Hey guys thanks for the replies . I learn more and more each day with this forum. I was originally thinking of a cai but I've read u kinda loose more then gain with performance. Well Atleast that's the opinions I read. I go to dealer on sat for oil change and a recall for window trim or seal. Really didn't understand her but I'm down for any recall. If there is a ecu flash update will they try to do it or do I ask them to check? Any noteable flashes I should ask about ?
I would leave the BOV given they actually dont work better than the OEM part Tyres will make a massive improvement all round on performance - just dont get run flats If you want more induction noise or tshhh sound from the turbo I have ITG Panel Filter fitted to my 2011 JCW
I just pressed the filter yesterday and as for the tires I desperately would live to get rid of those things .ill have to deal with them till spring time
