I purchased a Canon Vixia HD CMOS video camera a short time ago and have been struggling on where to mount the unit inside the MINI. I'm wanting to get a mount in preparation for my trip next week to MSSD.

I considered making something from scratch that fastens to the headrest posts, but felt it might get in the way, and didn't like the idea that I couldn't make adjustments with the camera mounted behind my shoulder.

After searching the various forums for ideas, I've pulled the trigger and ordered a mount from RAM Mounts (Made in the USA:Thumbsup:). I should have it in a couple of days. This company makes mounts for just about anything you can imagine. And they seem to make a quality product.

I went with the glass suction cup mount and was surprised it was a reasonable $35.43 + shipping.

    Here is what I picked.

    RAM Mounting Systems, Inc.

If i chose wrong, it's a simple matter of changing out and using a different connection or arm.

Now my next concern is taking up important real estate on the windshield.

looks pretty solid. I would do a few dry runs just to see how the "jiggle" is. As for mounting, I would go smack dab under the rear view.

Just curious, what's the thread/diameter? Just wondering if it is brand specific, or universal.

The one I ordered was a 1/4-20 threads, same as on my camera.

Got the sunroof? Could stick it to that and hang it upside down.
