It all started back near the end of August. We stopped by MINI of Grand Rapids just for the fun of it to look at MINIs. My wife was interested in the Countryman. A week later, we had our first MINI, a 2011 Countryman. Day after we picked up: We went to the Wine and Color Tour up in Traverse City, and met quite a few fellow MINI enthusiasts. After driving our Countryman around, I wanted to get my own MINI. We then met up with a few other MINI enthusiasts at Detroit Tuned, and I was convinced, I needed to have my own MINI. We went to MINI of Grand Rapids, and there was a Lightning Blue MINI Cooper. I really liked it when I first saw it, and I felt that it was the one for me. We weren't actively trying to sell our other car at the time (a Subaru Forester XT with STI goodies) and we weren't sure about giving up our AWD vehicle right before winter. Someone was looking for another Subaru, and we agreed on a price, then it was sold. It felt like it was a sign for us to get another MINI. A few days after we sold our Subaru, we went back to MINI of Grand Rapids, and the Lightning Blue MINI was still there. It was a sign. A few days later, it was mine. Both at the Dealer: I am very happy so far! Now my wife and I each have our own MINIs! Few more pictures: Both are Justas, 6MT.
We have two mini's here also. I got mine then, about a month later I took my wife with me to the Mini meet in Charlotte on Saturday, then we went with the dealer and hung out with teh club and she found a BRG convertible and on Monday we were back there getting her Mini.
Thanks! It seems when you get one (as a couple), soon after you will will each want one! Enjoying it so far, and trying to find more reasons to go out for a drive!
We also have two minis. And I am also a Subaru convert from an STi. I was concerned with the lack of awd but so far I am extremely happy. I can't believe you went from an XTi to a non turbo!
I am extremely happy as well! I can't say I miss the XTi's power...maybe I'm getting old? Here are a couple from today
