Welcome to MA! Your just north of me (Sandy Springs)... need to get together.

FYI - another memeber @Jediglx just picked up a Countryman few weeks back and loved it.

Welcome. Say...where are the pictures? :)

Do you know your range starting with a full tank of gas and fully charged battery? I am a bit intrigued about the Hybrid countryman.

I'll get the pictures going soon, had a little rear-ender that has the Countryman in the shop right now.

I've been getting up to 17 miles on a fully charged battery before the gas kicks when I try running all electric. At first I spent a lot of effort trying to outsmart the car, but I've learned that the built-in electronics are probably smarter than me. So when I use the onboard nav it takes advantage of its knowledge of the terrain and traffic lights to optimize the use of gas versus battery so overall I started just letting it do its thing. By the way the onboard nav has semi accurate knowledge of where charging stations are so while I'm by no means fully electric I do have the fun of a little bit of a scavenger hunt aided by the nav so that I can park close to a charger and reduce my carbon footprint.

Overall I'm absolutely loving it. I can be a devoted treehugger most of the time and still have the fun a full-blown mini performance when the mood strikes me.

One more quick follow-up, like any other vehicle max range is highly dependent upon driving conditions but with a full battery and a full tank my range is well over 300 probably closer to 350 miles.

OK, going back in time I found this not so sexy but very cool snapshot showing 57MPG average. This after a week of not having to drive to far and running on battery about 50% of the time. Of course this is a bit of a fiction because the mileage run on battery is calculated in but the electricity consumed is not. Instrumentation does provide miles per kwh as well. Recently I've gotten that in the range of 11, this snapshot shows 7, not fit what's led to that significant change.... IMG_20180522_173520.jpeg

Damn, I'm old! I never realized MINI has gone to hybrids. How in the hell does one "mod" a hybrid MINI?
