Hi there -- I did a search and couldnt find anything so I will ask the MINI gods here and hopefully its nothing bad. What I notice is that when I get on the highway and get William up to say 70-80 mph I smell a rotten egg/sulfur/ burning smell....its faint and it does not matter if its cold or hot, rain, snow, cold start or been driving.... its always when I go from say 50mph up to 70-80 to say pass a tractor trailer or something.... any thoughts? It is still under factory warranty. Could it be my melting bonnet scoop? thanks !
Someone will be along and will give you some answers.....and we'll never tell you to do a search here on MA.
I don't know 'peep', but if it were a melting hood scoop, one would expect it to either melt away or eventually stop off-gassing (and releasing the smell). I'm betting on the Cat. converter as well.
actually i thought for a while it was my hubby !!! but then it happened when he wasnt in the car so.... :biggrin5:
I had it at the dealer and they found a bad O2 sensor...and the smell went away for a little while...but now its back.... I will call dealer tomorrow and schedule appt. -- thanks everyone !
I'm thinking she needs to change her husband's diet if the smell stays in the car even when he isn't in it!
