Hey out there, anyone have their '03 R53 Idle (stationary)Pulley back itself out, then snap off 'bout 9/32" of the anchor bolt inside the block?
Happened to me. On a Friday of course. I ordered the replacement Bilstein unit. Should be here on Mon.
Dread overwhelmed me about how to get the broken stud out. The frame eclipses the axis of the stud for any left-handed drill or extractor. Arrg! Am I gonna have to yank this power train?
Fortune smiled on me. Not only did I have the foresight to install a belt tensioner stop, but l I tried to wiggle the said stud with a small blade screwdriver. And after a short 4 or 5 min. attempt, the stud backed out! Very lucky.
Clean the threaded hole, 20+Ftlbs on the new pulley, a new Gatorback (they are quiet), and it's back to happy motoring!

Perhaps compared to the GEICO pig, other than that just marketing words on the package.
