I don't think the author is a rider cuz they didn't mention The Dragon. Scenic as well as exhilarating. Doesn't get much better than that IMO. ....Les
If he rides a cruiser I can understand why he didn't ride the dragon. Watching those guys waddle around those curves makes me wonder why they even bother. Sport bikes are another thin entirely, zoomie!!!
I noticed the same thing. I guess to be able to say they been there. Those crotch rockets were blasting by me all the time. Jim
At MOTD this year, I saw one of those cruiser bikes go off the road into a ditch on the mountain side (as opposed to the 1,000ft fall side). He was going less than 25mph and the road curved too much for him and his highway bars dragged and down he went. I was a respectable distance behind him. Nowhere to for me to stop, so I crept past to see if he was ok. He got up, waved and smiled, as if some kind of accomplishment had been attained.
I never really liked the crash bars, which seem to be getting bigger and bigger. They limit how far you can lay into a turn as in this case and that is the fun of a bike. Jim
