Disclaimer - I am not posting this to enter into a political debate. If you agree that this is worthy of your time, great. If you don't agree and would prefer to have FOX News win this 'competition' that is your right and your privilege I did not write this and it does take some shots at FOX News, if you like the FOX New organization I would stop reading here and move onto other MINI stuff <snip> Subject: Help NPR beat FOX News Dear Friend, On Sunday, the White House Correspondents Association will decide which news organization will be awarded the seat recently vacated by Helen Thomas. The news organizations most actively vying for the seat are FOX, NPR and Bloomberg News. FOX News is a right-wing propaganda outlet, not a legitimate news agency. In recent weeks the network has turned the volume up on its race-baiting political agenda. The media assault on Shirley Sherrod is just a latest in a series of racist and politically motivated attacks on targets like Van Jones, ACORN, and Eric Holder's Department of Justice. It's bad enough that we have to fight the constant smear campaigns and appeals to racial paranoia from FOX and the right-wing media. We can't let them have the best seat in the White House press briefing room and the legitimacy that it confers. I just told the White House Correspondents Association to give the best seat in the briefing room to NPR, not FOX. I hope you will, too. Have a look and take action at the link below. Should the front row center seat in the White House press briefing room go to FOX News or NPR?
NPR for the win!! As a long term NPR listener (30+ years) I'd much rather see them front and center than Fox.
Seriously? Propoganda? Everything beyond the first paragraph above is blantant left-wing propoganda. I have nothing against NPR, but for God sake don't give me this pantload of an argument above as the reason for choosing one over the other.
Disclaimer to the disclaimer... My above comment was not directed at the original poster, but at the cut and pasted letter. I understand that it is an attempt to "fire up the base", but it is still a load of crapola.
Too bad a real NEWS organization isn't running for the spot... All of the contenders are nothing but editorial spinners, regardless of the direction of the spin. Freaking sad.
The convoluted logic is mind numbing. "The right wing hysterical propaganda proves the legitimacy of our left wing hysterical propaganda". Reminds me of some of the better thought out arguments in "Mein Kampf,".
So do I, scary that you can read news about the US on the BBC that doesn't get published here................
You can always get US news out of Canada, on the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC). Much like the BBC. Mark Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
But the news reader keeps ending every sentence in "eh?" Really annoying. That, and all the advertising for back bacon.
Wow, that letter is sure a load of cr*p. I think that if you rely on just a single source for your information/news you're going to be missing out. I try to listen to as many as I can and then make up my own mind. NPR leans to far to the left for me, Winston Churchill (IMO) accurately described BBC as communistic, CNN has lost its identity and its credibility but reminds me a lot of BBC, CBS and NBC have no idea on how to report a story objectively, and ABC is working hard to be objective in its reporting. But I still read and/or listen to them all and others. But to label FOX as "a right-wing propaganda outlet, not a legitimate news agency" is irresponsible and negligent on our part. I learned my lesson from Paul Harvey a long time. To get "The Rest of The Story", I read and listen a lot and learn as much as I can about the behind the scenes stuff. Especially on the important things. ....Les
NPR short for " National Propaganda Radio " I dont care who gets the seat just so long as they ask real questions and demand real answers.... These softball questions that the big three ask is just a joke.
