As the money gets tighter and tighter, more of us are doing our own oil changes. AND trying to find an Oil that doesn't kill us!! ( $130.00 for Oil and filter here in Ne Fl)

Well as I receive a lot of core heads for port work, I also receive a lot of camshafts.. I have been noticing Camshaft wear on cams that SHOULD not be there. (I have more of extreme lobe wear.. however my camera is down at the moment)

A long time ago.. the EPA made the Oil companies pull the zinc and other 'anti-wear' additives out of the engine oil as it messes with the cats and kills bunny rabbits. The major oil companies have added small amounts of anti wear back into their oils. The point is that NOW all oils are not the same, and IF we choose an inexpensive oil.. we cold have abnormal wear and tear on our engine.
SOOoo... do some research, find the best for your application, or add in zinc additives back in the oil. Just saying... cool??
