These are some photographs I took of an orb weaver spider. These spiders are about the size of a silver dollar. They have extremely large fangs for there size.

Found one of those last weekend under the eaves, or rather, the guy that was installing the antenna for our wireless internet found it. He refused to continue working until I removed the spider. :)Must have been his lucky day as he also disturbed a hornet nest while on the roof removing the old receiver. He was brave enough to take them on himself though and proceeded to spray the nest with Raid. :eek:ut: They were flying all around him, but somehow he never got stung.

Ever just sit and watch one spin it's web? Fascinating, and they are very precise and methodical about it. Had one outside our bedroom window for a little over a week, the big fat black and yellow kind, and every morning her web looked like he#@ but by bed time, she had it all sorted out and open for business.
