I just replaced my R53 passenger side lower cushion due to the occupancy sensor going out. The factory replacement seat had the occupancy wire up front like the original, but has another wire in the rear with a R52 label on it. Any clue what this second wire is for?

Also - do I need to take it to someone with a reset tool? The lights did not go out after the replacement.

the other wire is for a seat heater-all the replacement seat cushions are wired with a heater so there is only one part number per color. and yes the new seat cushino has to be programmed to the air bag control unit, it is more than a light clear that is needed

Thank you very much for answering both points!

I'll see if my local MINI technician can help with that.
