Does anyone have a picture of the underside of a Gen 1 ...like it's on a lift and your shooting the front half. A rent-a-bay shop has recently opened here in Cincy and I want to install a splitter myself. If I can get a picture, I can form my plan of attack. As always, TIA for any help...
searched on google images - found a number of useful views there. Not sure what you are looking for. There is plastic up front, and then there's a subframe, behind that a fan. One wheel on each side https://www.bimmerforums.com/forum/showthread.php?1705346-DIY-Retrofitting-2005-under-tray-to-a-pre-2005-R53
Why not just put your own car on a lift and take its pic from the underside? Then, you'll have a pretty good idea of what you can or cannot do.
I would...but my car is undergoing upgrades. I was hoping to figure out what parts I need before I go over to the rent a bay place and try to install it.

The only good thing was there were no injuries. Lucky folks for sure. Low skill & over confidence = a totaled MINI.
First image above isn't an R53, or it has been massively modified (4WD...). The second one just hurts my head!
Reminds me of a high school drink... uh i mean collage drink with pink lemonade... called a “pink panty pull down”.. basically vodka and pink lemonade.
Thanks for the help people, but I have decided not to install it. I'm sure I would tear it up parking because of my depth perception. And, besides I never go over 100 mph...intentionally. It's for sale with hardware in anyone wants it.
