This past weekend I went to Pittsburgh for the 30th Annual Vintage Grand Prix. I'd like to thank the Dixon family for their hospitality and the PittStop MINI Club for all the fun and great people I met. All these photos are not mine. I forgot the camera in the hotel on Saturday...grrr.. If not credit given then I took the picture. We gathered Saturday morning at some remnants of Pittsburgh's steel mill legacy. At least 164 MINIs and Minis were there. Photo by Jimmy White Photo by Suzan From there we had a police escort to the park. Getting 160some MINI's all to the same place in a line through city streets proved to be a bit of an issue. About the 1st 38 all made it. The rest came trickling in later. Seems a bus got in the way. Entering the park, thats a line of MINIs as far as the eye can see. Photo by Suzan Now we skip to Sunday when I had my camera - Link to full album Darn good looking MINIs if I say so myself... BMW CCA held Sharks in the Park for 6 series cars. Just a few One of my favorites, look at how clean the side skirts have been fared in. Spotted hiding among the Mercedes. Look, no catch fencing, a few hay bales to keep you off the tree and a road with a heck of a crown... This is the hairpin corner. Coming up the hill to the hairpin, this is steep! Talk about some camber The park is huge and the paddock area was very spread out along a road. We did a drive through in the golf cart lent to us bu MINI of Pittsburgh. Obligatory MINI / Mini Shots "Three Car Garage" The car show was incredible, but best on Saturday, I had the camera on Sunday...figures For a donation you could get a ride around the track in a BMW or one of the 3 MINIs. The queue was rather long for the rides too... One of the MINI hot shoes... Hey...how did that sticker get on the bottom right of the back glass...wasn't me! Honest. Was a great time. I'll be going back in 2013. There was some video shot and I know there are lots more pictures out there. If you have pictures from the weekend please feel free to add to this thread or link to your host.
