1st Gen R53 Cooper S Question

    I have an 02 mini cooper s , and it when I went to leave work the cel came on and the dsc light came on and the ac quit all at the same time , and the codes it is showing are for the camshaft postion sensor and two o2 sensors , I figured the camshaft sensor could make the o2 sensor codes come on but would it make the ac quit , I've checked the ac components out and there all good just won't kick on , how do you know your In limp mode ? I know I have lost power . Could limp mode make the ac and dsc quit ?

    How old is the battery?

    A lot of weird things can happen on a MINI when the battery is going bad.

    Maybe a year , I figured that the camshaft postion sensor could cause the o2 sensors but the ac is puzzling

    You will know if it is in limp mode. It will have no power at all. Did you shut off the car and restart it? if so did anything change?
    I would start with checking all your battery connections. Make sure they are corrosion free and tight. Don't forget the Positive bolt under the hood with the + sign on it, they have been know to get loss. Then have the battery checked. Not just the volts but have a load test done on it. Any parts store can do it for you. After this is done clear the codes and see what comes back. If the crank position comes back I would change it.
