Just ask, the crack staff here at M/A will move it where it needs to go if it needs to be moved. We'll let you know if it is moved too.

You have a 1st Generation MINI. As it is an S it is Supercharged. The 1st Generation Convertible is known as an R52 as well. You can find more on the Rxx and new Fxx codes in this Motoring Alliance Library Article. R / F Code, What is it and What do they Signify - Library

my tech question is I have noticed a small amount of coolant puddling under car recently looks to be coming from thermostat housing but have not had time to investigate fully I invested in a service manual from Bentley was just wondering if its some thing I could maybe tackle myself , fairly handy .?

Moved thread to 1st Gen Convertible area and added more to the title to make it more visible.

The thermostat housing is an issue on these cars. They are known to leak. You should be able to effect the repairs if you are handy and have the manual.

Would you use some kind of gasket sealant on the housing or gasket I saw no reference in the manual about that.

There is a new improved gasket for the housing but I'm not sure about it's name or source. I'm speaking only from what my independent shop guy told me he installed when mine failed for the second time (been two years now and not a drop of smurf juice). Somebody who's on top of that please chime in.

To the OP, if you don't have one, go on a ebay search for a wind deflector, with case if possible. Make sure you search for the R52 model as the R57 version won't fit. It will make a world of difference in you topless motoring experience. You can actuall visit with your co-pilot in a normal tone of voice at any speed.

Oh, yea. Welcome to the wonderful world of true motoring
