Ok folks, I think I'm doing this backwards so please forgive my ignorance.

I recently got a Stage 1 exhaust, brand new (with nicely etched tips). It hasn't been installed yet. Since buying it, I've read a number of threads about how much louder (or more drone) the S1 exhaust has. Some people have had success with the taming the beast by installing the JCW front muffler.

I noticed that the JCW has only one cat, yet my MCS has 2 cats (that makes for 18 lives :D), one in the downpipe, the other on the rear exhaust, just before the resonator.

Does installing the JCW front muffler, which removes one cat (from the rear exhaust) affect pollution or noise or smell in a big way? I noticed there's no O2 sensor down there so it shouldn't trigger a CELs (?)

Thots on how to keep Spike wife approved  ?
