    Hey guys,

Need a new head gasket for my R53 and I'm wondering if there are any aftermarket/performance options that you can recommend. I believe cometic do one for the 53 but haven't had any experience with them.

    Cheers Jules

Cometic do manufacture one fro the R53. I've run it on my car for some time with no issues.

Have not used that one yet, but head gaskets are normally easy to make if they know what they are doing. So if you see a price savings then it can be good choice. If not we sell the MINI OEM one and can get it a bit thicker also if the head rebuild has to take too much off to make the head flat. MINI Head Gaskets

We only use the OE Head Gaskets as some of the race ones have proven not to be as reliable. The job is too big to risk having to do it again to save a few bucks.
