So my mums 03 cooper S lost it's clutch yesterday and I need some help on picking out a new one.
Her mini is completely stock other than a set of wheels.

I know I want a ceramic clutch for sure because of how long they last, and I don't want a harder pressure plate because I don't want to blow out the plastic slave, also I would like a little harder flywheel that IS NOT LIGHTENED, this is a street car, driven by a middle aged woman, not a supped up rocket.

    help would be greatly appreciated.

Not sure this fits the bill completely, but the Valeo flywheel conversion kit (for '03 S use part number 52151203) includes a new steel flywheel that is not overly lightweight, plus all of the other parts needed for the job.

Ceramic discs can wear too and the engagement can be a bit abrupt depending upon manufacturer. A stronger pressure plate will not blow out the slave. For the price the Valeo dual-mass replacement is great option and is my #2 recommendation, over my #1 reinstalling another OEM. If economics are not a concern and you still want a non-organic disc, the OS Giken STR clutch is an outstanding performance option, middle aged woman or not. The OS Giken STR can be purchased through Werkin Mini.

I liked the feel and smoothness of the stock clutch, unless it died prematurely, I'd go back with another. And even if it did, I probably would too! :D
