    Can someone help?

I have a 2002 R53 cooper S and today we let me down.

I turn the key, the engine rolls but no start. Any ideas?

    Thanks in advance.

You are probably going to get more questions at the start. I’m not a R53 expert, first thing i would do is Check for spark and fuel.

I did a quick search and a few threads came up. May want to review some of them.

    Welcome to MA!
How many miles does it have? has it been modded or is it stock? Do you know the mainlanders history? Have you checked to see what codes are showing?

See @Sully was correct, more questions.:D

Let us know we will try our best to help

Something common on BMWs is the fuel pump relay goes causing it to turn over but not start.

Also see if you can hear the pump prime when you turn the key on (no crank)

    Hello,

Thank you very much for your feedback.

The car have at the moment 160.000 miles on. Its all stock. The previous owner had the car since new and always serviced it on BMW garage.
I already change the spark plugs but still no start. I dont have the error code reader. I really need to take in to a garage to see what is wrong. Thanks anyway.

Auto Zone [as well as other auto parts stores] has code readers and they can help you find the codes errors...for free. This should save you a trip to a garage until you better know the problem.

Good luck, and welcome to M/A!

If you can pull a plug and spin it over and see if your getting spark if you are then it must be a fuel problem. then check the relay like @o2sys said.
It would be well worth buying at least a basic code reader, even better to buy one that reads BMW/MINI codes. It will pay for itself.

    Hi.

Already buy a code reader. Just waiting to arrive then i will post the error codes that appear to see if there's any light on that. :)
    Thanks for your message.

Ok, then check the connections on your coil pack make sure they are clean. If you replace the coil pack stick with OEM, they are good for something like 300hp. Those pretty red ones cause problems. Also check all your fuses.

    Hi.
    All the fuses are good.
Maybe its the coil pack that went dead? Its normal to happen? Also can have something to do with the imobilizer?
Thanks in advace for your help.

Immobilizer cuts off fuel so it should crank but not start if it's the immobilizer.

A faulty crank position sensor will not start the car. Car needs timing reference and with out it, it won't start. It's magnetically read.

Check if it's connected probably, any wire damage and if it's leaking oil from the o-ring seal.

    Then replace if needed.

Have you checked all the ground wire/straps in the engine bay? Especially the one on the passenger side engine mount?

Check if it's tight. When I did my belt I forgot about the ground wire and would crank but not start.
