I wonder if anyone has had experience with rear seat covers who can make a recommendation. I have a 2013 convertible on-order (I'm guessing I'll have it in about two weeks). The thought of driving around without my dog is pretty much one that I won't entertain--what's the point of a convertible without a dog in it? But I do want to protect the seats (I've got the Highgate package, which includes very nice leather upholstery). My dog weighs about 80 lbs. (he's a purebred North American Buttsetter) so his claws can do significant damage just due to casual activity.

I notice that Mini sells a rearseat protective cover. It looks alright from the online pictures, but I hesitate to drop the $275.00 that it costs unless I'm pretty confident that it will do the trick. It looks like it covers the seats as well as the side panels and the backs of the front seats. Does anyone have experience with this product? Is there a competing product out there that might do better?

    I appreciate the recommendations!

I think ebay sells ones that are neoprene. They are supposed to be waterproof and are also pretty rugged. They might be of help, but then, since you will have a new car, I don't suppose you'll want to cover the seats, huh? Even so, you might check them out....

Thanks, Dave! Unfortunately, that part won't fit anything later that 2012. :( But thanks for pointing me to it, nevertheless.

Thanks for the other suggestions, as well! I've ordered one from Pooch Style--it seems to meet all my requirements and various online reviews (as well as the one from maccodale) are very positive.
