over the last three years the front end of my mini has taken a lot of daily damage. I figured it was time to replace the pitted 3m film on the lens and respray the head light rings. Before: No buffing would get this out... they are done After: New 3m flim and feshly sprayed rings! YAY! -
Very nice!:cornut: How hard was it to apply without having air bubbles trapped under the film. The lens is a compound curve, so I assume this could be difficult? Did you cut this from 3M film sheet, or did you get them die cut from an aftermarket supplier (where?). I would like to attempt this myself so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
with a heat gun, it took me about 10 mins a head light. The flim came precut. The key was the rubbing alcohal and the Heat gun. The heat gun made it supper easy. I have one or two wet spots under the flim, but those will disaper in a week or two. But that sorta thing is some thing vynle does. you cant get all the bubles, but they go away shortly on their own. These where a gift from some one for xmas last year. I believe they got them from MINI manina The set i bought years ago when from this place: Mini Cooper S (2001 to 2006) Headlight Covers, Clear Bras, and Tail Light Covers
Thanks for the info. I see where Outmotoring has them also. Since they are a site sponsor, I'll have to give Aaron a call.
