so I am confused a little bit. I want to preregister for this event but I don't see where to do that with the link. I have a 1975 mini and there's nothing on that page that I want to do. I just want to be able to park my mini with the other minis. Last year they parked me with the newer minis instead of with the British car section. Do I need to register someplace else or just do it when I get there???

    Thanks

ok so I was reading more and it looks like it cost $60 to register. That is a ton of money for a car show. Last year I just went on Saturday and I am not going to spend $60 to park a car in a car show for one day. Can someone help explain what I am missing here.

You will want to do the first option
"Marque Display at Schenley Park Race - July 19/20 Weekend
Weekend Registration includes Parade Lap of Track on Sunday (per MINI) $60.00". If you want catered lunch on Saturday or Sunday you can add that. (or bring a picnic lunch or buy from food vendors at the car show.) You will be parked in the MINI Marque of the Year area with ALL MINIs new and old.

If you want to park with the british car club, you would need to register with them. However, I would like to assume that since MINI is the marque of the year that those classic MINIs who usually park in the british car club area will be registering to park with us and participating in marque of the year events (like the track lap).

Sorry it took so long to reply, I was at MINIs on The Dragon.

Remember the reason we're doing this is to raise money for the Autism Society of Pittsburgh and the Allegheny Valley School (a non-profit school for children with intellectual & developmental disabilities) and all proceeds generated from the car show go directly to them.

That said, I will see if I can convince PVGP of a discounted Saturday-only option at our next meeting on May 7th.

This event has been HIGHLY discounted by MINI of Pittsburgh the past couple of years but before that was similarly priced, $50 for the weekend in 2010 even without being the Marque of the year. MoP is doing as much as is in their budget this year but being Marque of the Year comes with a lot more responsibilities and costs.

    Awesome!

In the past we've met around 8AM on Saturday at a parking lot near the Hot Metal Bridge. We'd have coffee & donuts there and hand out registration packets. Then we'd be police escorted over to Schenley Park so we can all enter as 1 big group (and without waiting in traffic!). I'm pretty sure that's what will be happening again this year, i'll report back if i find out otherwise. If you're not able to meet us for the police escorted entrance, then I believe PVGP gate workers were just instructed to let any MINIs in and we handled their registration at the MINI Tent.

PVGP has a fine charity connection. A Saturday only option would be good. I plan on being there Saturday. If no Saturday only option is available I'll be there anyway. Like you have said the proceeds go to a very worthy cause.

Let us know how the Saturday only option goes.
