When I would go to the UK for work I remember Guy Fawkes day being like our 4th of July for the kinds of parties and celebration.

When I was a kid, still living in England, my dad used to build a bonfire in the back yard and on Bonfire night he would light the fire and set off fireworks. The best part, though, was the Bonfire Toffee made by Thorntons. Dad would buy a pound bag of this toffee, which was a dark brown colour and broken into pieces from a large flat. Mmmmm, can still taste it after all these years.
