when removing my exhaust for some clamp replacement i managed to quite easily shear off one of the studs that comes through the trunk floor for the exhaust hanger.

    part 7 in the following

RealOEM.com   BMW R53 Cooper S Mounting parts for trunk floor panel

does anyone know if the new ones come with the studs that are not shown in the picture? is it held with anything other than the 2 spot welds?

should i replace with the oe part or just get some stainless bolts with neoprene washers to seal it?

it is functioning for the most part now it just rattles a bit over bumps because the hanger is only on with one bolt.

If it were me, which it has been, drill out the old part and replace it yourself. I did exactly your idea 2 years ago and it's working fine without any issues. I also put a light ring of silicone around the area just to make sure it was water tight.
I live in the NE (PA, Philly area) and the roads suck and we get snow and the DOT salt like crazy. The SS bolts are a must and if you cover them with a light coat of candle wax (rub it on) they will not corrode and seize together. I also use the wax trick on metal valve stems with aluminum valve caps. If you have ever had one seized on you know what I am talking about.

Good luck with your project, I am going back to my beer it's calling me.
