Replacing the Pressure Converter (Bentley Manual?)

Hey all. Of course when I try to sell the car I have an issue. I need to replace the pressure converter. If anyone has the Bentley manual or a good explanation on how to get to it and swap it out that would be appreciated.

    It's part #2 in this diagram. Part # 11657599547

That's the Pressure Converter, not controller. That may help in the search for the how-to for this. I tried looking around but couldn't find specifics on install. I have a Bentley manual but unfortunately for only 1st gens. I'll let you know if I come across a good how-to somewhere.

I don't understand what you're having difficulty with. I can't imagine it's the removal/installation procedure since it's a simple little part. What I'm guessing you're having trouble with is finding it.

The easiest way to access it is to remove the intake manifold. The actuator (converter, controller...whateva) hangs on the space between the engine block and the intake manifold. It would be easier to remove the intake manifold bolts and loosen the manifold mounting bolt (shown as bolt #6 in Real OEM below) so you can just swing it out of the way.

    RealOEM.com * BMW R56 Cooper S Intake manifold system

From there let the cussing begin! It's a tight area to work in when the manifold is still in the engine bay :biggrin5:

On another note, I hope your next fun car is a step up from the MINI!

That. Lol. I wasn't totally sure the best way to tackle the issue. I don't like yanking parts off willy-nilly when there is a simpler path. Your description is what I needed.

What is coming next may happen sooner than I thought... More on that later. :D

The hardest part is finding that #6 bolt. It's like trying to find a needle in a haystack. The diagram kind of helps locate it and you can let your left hand feel where the bolt head is.

Make sure when you bolt the manifold back on, don't torque them down crazy! You can strip the thread in the head very easily.
