I was referring to the SEATS not the TOP. Leather in a vert seems silly to me, unless it is going to be a "fair weather" machine. Jim
Yurp doesn't have any wild leatherettes that can donate their skins to the inside of cars and it turns out that farming leatherettes doesn't work..... I find that cloth is the best material for a convertible interior - doesn't get burny hot in summer if left in the sun and doesn't suffer from the occasional wetting. But then we don't have really cold winters here (below 30 degF is rare) and I wonder if the US gets leatherette for that reason? I'm treating myself to a SD roadster next year and looking forward to that 225 ft.lb (305 Nm). But may have to pass on cloth to get those new Recaros.
With all the northerners moving down our way, we've been able to thin out the Nauga populations a bit, by having monthly hunts. Matter fact, the last time we took some newbies out, they came back a couple days later complaining that they couldn't find a one....Lol
Sad to say the Nauga are extinct or very nearly so thanks to the American big 3 auto makers. Now the poor little Leatherette is going down the same road. :frown2:
Leatherette or nauga. Indestructible, easy to care for and perfect for a rag top. Looks like most of you all have gotten pampered in your advancing years. Minimark, just secretly stick a sign on the back of a couple of those Northerners that says "NAUGA" and they will take care of themselves, a couple at a time. Jim
But aren't Bison numbers up again? Fur seats sounds good for the winter and an empty passenger seat gently fluttering in a roof-down convertible would look good. But not ideal in Flaadah.
I got along just fine with vinyl (ie. plastic) seats for many years. I don't think Triumph had even heard of nauga hide. Jim
As long as those are not wild free range Nauga's. Cloned ones would be OK. :biggrin5: As far as Buffalo goes, they are delicious.... :drool
I will order my roadster with the optional bison fir soft top please...the only thing better than a seat made of lush soft fur would be a roof made of it briskly fluttering as I motor down the HWY anyone have a "Save the Nauga's" T-shirt?
Now that is just a SWAG on my part. MINI has a habit of making all the stuff one wants cost a hella lot of a lot of .... :donut1: IMHO that is going to be the nicest MINI available. :drool
