Since one of my stock r98's has a crack I need new wheels. I like the Rota RB's. Kind of cross between old/new mini.
I am not sure which will look better on Space Blue. Sliver or Hyper Black.

Does anyone have these? HOw is the quality?

Click on the RB to see the wheel colors!

Being a fellow Space Blue/Silver owner I can with confidence say that an all black wheel doesn't look good. The black spokes with a polished lip looks good on this color combo. One seems to need a bit of brightwork down low with the silver roof.

Here's my Laser Blue Clubman S with Rota Hyper Black:

If you go with the 17" Hyper Black rims, hit me up. I have one brand-new spare w/ a Kumho A/S mounted (inc TPMS sensor for <2010 models)

See I really like the Hyper Black. Although I have no idea why they call in Black. it is more of a brushed grey/sliver to me.
Have you been happy with the fit and ride? And yes I will be going with 17's

I like the ride and handling. Went from 16" w/RF tires to 17" nonRF, the ride improved a bit with the new combo.

The rims change in the light from silver to black. Really nice effect.

Just a reminder...if you have big brakes or plan to install big brakes in the future, Rota RB's (even with 17's) will require spacers for clearance.

NOT true, our test R56 has Rota RB's in black with an 11.75 wilwood BBk and they work fine, and NO spacer. It is close but clears.

Will they work with an R53?

Way, TRUE...I bought a set of Rota RB's-17's- and they would NOT fit over my factory JCW front calipers. They may fit over specific ones as you have noted, but obviously they don't fit over mine.

I was planning on getting the RBs on 17x7.5 off of mach v/fastmini. It was stated that they should fit over JCW brakes...

    Maybe they changed something?

Whenever I hear big brake kit, I dont think about the stock ones, including JCWs, though they are big lol.

cheez, it probably depends which year JCWs. 1st gen?.. no issues at all, but like Mark said they wouldnt fit on his gen2

They will fit with spacers...but if I remember correctly they needed 10mm spacers to fit the R56 Factory JCW. Way should have more information but I know that 5mm spacers wouldn't provide enough clearance. I would have been comfortable with 5mm but wasn't with 10mm.

FastMini website says the front needs a 15mm spacer on 2008+ JCW brakes for the 17" x 7.5 Rota RB. 16" will not fit over JCW brake with any spacer.
