They have portable lights like they use on highway projects. It really does light things up. It's going to be clear, no rain, about 64F during the day and a bit windy. Can't wait.

By the way the track is 3+ miles, 15-turns and has loads of elevation changes. Its a cool road course.

I know. I checked out the track online the first time I saw a Thunderhill announcement thread. Looks like a really fun track to drive, excellent for MINIs...yet another reason to wish I still lived out there (spent almost five years at Beale AFB). Unfortunately it's about a 5,600 mile round trip from here in MD.

Been to Beale AFB many times, not far at all from Thunderhill. It is a great track for MINIs. We hold MINI Thunder there every year. Its a blast. I will be heading over there on Sat morning and will take photos. I'll try to post that night or Sunday.

For MINI Thunder we do run the entire course, BUT this is just a HPDE and it's NOT suppose to be a "speed" event, however last year Ian Stewart came out and drove Jan's RMW's MINI and nearly set a track record in just a few laps.
The 25hours is obviously an endurance race and not a sort sprint but it will tell alot. I am anxious to compare times

Here's the entry list if anyone wants to know what sort of machinery they're running against.

Here are some photos of the RSR MINIs from today:

Gotta realize that they are competing with some real high HP cars. They are in the unlimited class and are holding thier own against some "BIG Boys"

AT 9:29PM Pacific Time RSR Motorsports car # 196 is currently 8th overall with a best lap time of 2:01.548. Laps completed are 277

Car #195 is currently in 15th overall with a best lap of 2:01.516 and has competed 271 laps.

Note: Car # 196 started "dead last" as they had a blown engine and no qualifying time.
Also there were 83 cars starting the race! Not bad.

Keep rooting them on. Good Luck RSR!
