The news media is saying that there will be over 10 Million without power due to Sandy. I thought it would be fun to have an Over / Under thread going. So... What do you say, over or under 10 million and what do you think the total will be? I'm picking over and going with 12.5 million will be out of power in total.
My son is in Freehold New jersey and as of 5:00 Eastern he has no power. I am going to go with 11 million.
I saw on FOX NEWS this morning that a 4 ft. wall of water was flooding a subway. Lot's of fires and around a Million without power, gas, sewer or water.
I believe it, in fact I'm surprised (and glad) it isn't more. I didn't guess "over" (above 10M) based on anything the media said. When the Derecho wind storm came through here this July (or was it late June?) there were a million outages in DC and adjacent counties alone. I figured since this big thing was heading right at the heart of the NE corridor there would be a huge impact and many millions of outages possible. I'm glad to be proven wrong.
