1. What kind of info can i derive from the car if i purchase a scan gauge 2? 2. Will it read CEL errors? 3. What is the best place to place it in the interior of my car? 4. Where from can i purchase it as cheap as possible? 5. Is there ScanGauge 3 coming out?
1. Check the website for display spec's but suffice to say just about anything. 2. Yes 3. Check out Welcome to CravenSpeed Online MINI Cooper Performance and Style for mounts. 4. Just check out the web. 5. No idea, but doubt it is anytime soon if at all.
1.this what I am currently monitoring with mine. fWT (Water temp in f) BST (Vac/Boost in PSI) A/F (Air/Fuel Ratio) fIA (Inlet Temp f) This should answer your "what can it display" http://www.scangauge.com/support/x-gauge/mini/ XGauges for CANSF vehicles : Linear Logic : Home of the ScanGauge 2. Yes 3.where you want. I have mine mounted with Velcro on the left side of dash by steering wheel. 4. See #4 above 5.????
I'm very happy with my Scangauge. I mounted mine directly beneath the switch panel in the center console of my R53 with double sided tape. I like it there because it looks like it belongs there. If you like, check out the picture of it in my gallery of MINI photos.
thanx guys but just remember that im looking for scangauge R56 setups cause i need to get ideas for my R56 interior
Mounted mine on the right knee bolster. I used 3M Industrial Dual Lock material. Much better hold than Velcro. After having it reprogrammed for MINI, I am currently running boost, voltage, coolant temp, and oil temp.
I used to have mine mounted down low where it didn't look out of place. But found that i couldn't read it safely. I switched to the cravenspeed mount, it looks a little more aftermarket but is actually readable!
FYI if you get your ScangaugeII from WMW it will come preprogrammed with the special MINI codes: TFT- Transmission Fluid Temp (Auto Trans ONLY) EOT- Engine Oil Temperature A/F- Air Fuel Ratio FRP- Fuel Rail Pressure (PSI) ENG- Engine Temperature If you get it from anyone else you will have to ship it back to scangauge and pay $25 to get it upgraded with this programming.
Linear Logic will flash/reprogram a recently-purchased ScanGaugeII, and ship it back to the owner, free of charge. Had I known that Way sells them "pre-flashed", I would have bought mine from him instead of AutoZone, to both save me the hassle (and slight cost) of shipping, and to support a small business who supports MINI owners. But Linear Logic will reprogram a newer (software version #) free as a courtesy, or at least they have been doing so. Contact Linear Logic/ScanGauge with questions.
^^^ This is true and they did this for mine at no charge... Interesting fact... I kept getting two strange codes that would clear but would always come back (don't remember which ones they were now).... After the MINI specific software reflash on the SGII, the strange codes haven't resurfaced.... My mount (no visible power lead.... kinda)....
Yup... Made it last weekend... Ran the wire behind the plastic A pillar window trim... Go here...http://www.motoringalliance.com/forums/mini-stuff/9306-what-did-you-do-your-mini-today-525.html#axzz2c4XNPsmA
