I know that there are at least a couple of people here who have changed their seats out for more supportive seating options. Does anyone happen to know the spacing between the bolts that mount the seats to the chassis? I have some seats that I am looking at possibly mounting in my R53 and am trying to find out if I need to find new sliders/mounts. Thanks!
I do not know the exact specs but I had to order new seat floor brackets and sliders and mount them to the seats. The floor brackets had a extra little foot sticking out for the seatbelt to be mounted. I did have to "massage" the exhaust hump with a BFH so I could slide the seat back and forth without catching the carpet on the seatbelt. I ordered Recaro sliders and floor brackets like the ones below.
Thanks Dave.0. I already have some brackets and sliders with the seats, so was wondering if I could just re-use them. I'll probably just find a day in the spring to pull the drivers seat out and see what I can bolt up. I would love to drop the seat height another inch or two!
Yup you can reuse them. Your seat will drop a good bit when you take out the OEM seats. I added a 1 1/2 spacer in the front of the seats because they were too low in the front and it was like I was sitting on the floor. I put in a seat of Recaro's from an Evo IX and love them because they are very supportive and comfortable. Good luck with your upcoming seat mod.
