Motoring Alliance is not all I do, I've put the experiences I've learned here to work and also create sites for others. Mostly forums and most of the time the subject matter is rather main strain. Now and I find myself working a niche I never new existed. This last engagement was one of them.

College Fishing Forum is for college students that are actively involved in competitive Bass fishing. Who knew?

For the more geeky among us..the site is built using Xenforo as the forum base. With modifications for an event calendar with RSVP and mapping ability. This was just phase 1. Next I'll be implementing an advertising solution, mobile browsing and full blown CMS to wrap the site in.

I did competitive bass fishing for about six years, it is a big business lots $$ to be made as well as spent. I couldn't imagine doing it now with the price of fuel. It was nothing to go thru 36 gallons of premium fuel in six hours.

So kind of like being a track rat, but without trophies?

Trophies are overrated. Fish on the other hand, you can fry them up & eat them.

You are right. With the horses, we figure that is costs about $200.00 in entry fees to win a $2.00 ribbon. :eek:ut:

I'm just the geek behind the curtain that puts all the 1 and 0's in place. Fishing is not my thing.

Same thing happened to me when I raced. Banging fenders for a $1 bowling trophy with a car on top instead of a bowling pin. Boy they'd get mad when I'd ask for the $1 cash instead of a stupid trophy.
