I watched as well. I was disappointed in a couple of things:

    - The lack of control of the format, but keeping a politician on topic is like herding cats...
    - Was hoping to get more details of how each plan to fix things. Only part of the debate that I think Obama had a slight edge in.

My overall impression was that Romney had a much better debate. He seemed more enthusiastic and poised. Obama looked irritated and flustered at times.

In the grand scheme of things, the debate likely influenced that small percentage of active voters who list the somewhat fuzzy criterion "looking and acting Presidential" near the top of their pro-con list. It will be interesting to see how big that percentage really is based on the response in the polls.

The fundamental, philosophical political differences between the two candidates, and the level of public trust in their sincerity, seems relatively unchanged. I don't think the vast majority of people who align themselves based on these criteria were swayed much by the debate.

As George Thorogood and the Destroyers so aptly characterized, it all boils down to, "Who do you love?"

Didn't care.....already know who I'm voting for. But in the news and paper today, they are reporting that many of the "numbers" being thrown out there are completely wrong, or just say it, lies :( What needs to be done is, if a candidate is shown to be wrong on his facts, then he should have to make a rebuttle commercial and have to tell the country that and apologize, why should they be allowed to spew unfactual information and get away with it....it's BS!

PS. there is a website that published the numbers, factcheck.com or something?

Why would the moderator start a topic with "How does your views differ from your opponets." Don't ask them that just ask the question and let them both answer, poor old man just fed the fire of how unorgainized these things get..

Just tell me what your going to do, not what you think the other guy is or isn't going to do. We'll get to him in a minute..

    Couldn't be bothered.

You can't trust ANYthing a politician says in public view while actively seeking election or reelection. Same applies to ALL pundits and media outlets -- and I do mean ALL, every last one -- during the same time frame.

The only things that matter are real facts based on un-doctored info (though nearly impossible to find without some sort of spin attached ... the nearer an election, the worse it gets) and actions and character shown in the past and prior to the campaign period.

My rule: When there's an election looming, view EVERYthing said or reportedly done by anyone involved using the eyes and mind of a world class cynic.
