I read that article and noted Bob Varsha's comment during the Spanish Grand Prix about a transition from Speedtv to Speed thus allowing for Speed2 to launch. I guess that means we don't have to be hosted for F1 by a station that is really dedicated to Nascar?
No, no, no. You are all wrong. Speed2 will be taken over by a NASCAR sub-series not too long after its launch.
You misunderstand NASCAR. Based on this year's events, people apparently are interested in cars deliberately wrecking each other on ovals, not driving on ovals. As for Speed2, I can't get very excited about an Internet channel. Maybe if I get a new TV sometime it will have widgets to watch Internet content on it, but in the meantime I'd have to sit in front of my computer to see the races and I'm just not that interested enough in any series (F1 included) to do that.
I agree especially the part about watching F1 on a computer. I just went through the expense of installing an HD projection theater in my basement. That's the place to watch F1 or any sport.
If F1 or IndyCar had the fanbase of NASCAR you would see more of it. Complain all you want about NASCAR but they have the fans, the money, and TV time.
Absolutely. You could not take that away from the France family. From a marketing stand point they did an outstanding job.
