I'm in search of lowering springs for my 2002 MINI Cooper. Would like 2-3 inches of drop. Ride comfort doesn't matter. Suggestions?
None of the current offerings will bring that much drop. You'll need coilovers to accomplish that much of a drop.
That's unfortunate, because I'm a cheap high schooler. Any suggested coilovers? Cheaper is better. Also, thank you for giving me a business card for Motoring Alliance at MOTD, I like the simplicity of your forum compared with others.
Thanks, glad you like the site. The VMaxx coilovers are an inexpensive alternative. They were designed with you in mind, stance is the key with them as opposed to all out performance. There is an in depth review of the VMaxx coilovers in the library. I'm posting from a phone while out and about or I'd provide a link to the article. i would add a set of H-sport springs to that car along with some rear control arms and a good alignment. this will drop that car as bout an inch and give it a good look and good ride with no rubbing. to get 3" out of the car you are going to need front camber plates, the right tires and lots of trimming to keep things from rubbing all the time. and even with all of that you will still rub. since your on a budget it would go springs and control arms and it will look great. cheap coil-overs: 1600 installed. Springs: 800 installed. (prices estimated)
More than likely I'm going to do the install myself, so I can save money. I guess I'll just check out some reviews and see what I can figure. Thanks for the suggestions though!
Now that I'm researching on some products with your guys much needed ideas, I'm running into another dilemma. I've seen some fitment problems for springs on certain early year model coopers? Mine was made Feb of 02, any input is helpful. Thanks!
