does the stock mini's supercharger pulley have any writing on it? Because i recently bought an 02 mini s and my supercharger pulley has alta writen on it which i know to be a performance part brand for minis but i was wondering if its possible the part was out sourced to alta. The hole reason i looked is because i planned to do some autox with the car and i wanted to run it in the stock class but this would put me out of it.

That pulley has been changed. OEM ones never say Alta on them.

It could be the stock size? maybe. Do you have to have the OEM part or does it just need to be orignal size?

More than likely it is a Ver 1 15% pulley. They went to a ver 2 and it has the % marked on it now I believe.

There is a vendor that has a JCW sized pulley, but I know of no body offering a stock sized one.

Are you really wanting to be competitive at autoX or just in it for the fun? Reason I ask is that the stock class is now not very competitive for the MINI's. You could always see if they would let you run in STX.

Alta sold a stock sized pulley for awhile that said 0%. Even the classics say what size it is.

I've owned Alta pulleys in both 15% and 19% reductions with only the logo, no % designation.

On the Version 2 pulleys behind the logo it is stamped. The aluminum sticker covers the percentage and makes it look pretty.

The early alta's didn't have any % written on them. The best thing to do is to measure the diameter of it and then we'll know. I'd put my money on it being a 15%.

I of course recommend my pulley, but I'm bias in that opinon. I had all of the features of my pulley put on it, because they all make minor differences in installation and life of it.
The lips on the front and rear hold the belt better during install and engage the belt all the way when in use.
The whole in the Center is the best feature. It allows you to see that the pulley is fully seated on the shaft and correctly installed. It also removes a slight amount of weight. Same with the 2 extra holes drilled in it.
It's also All stainless steel so it will never wear out, or become corroded.

Feel free to call me if you have any other questions.
